March of Dimes Bike Unveiled

HUDSONVILLE — Carl Blauwkamp knows the difference March of Dimes research makes for families with young children.

His own triplet daughters were born five weeks early in 1999 and he’ll never forget the first weeks spent at DeVos Children’s Hospital, watching them mature. One of Blauwkamp’s daughters, 12-year-old Madison, today has a rare immune platelet disorder he knows March of Dimes research will benefit.

It’s those thoughts that flooded his mind Friday night as he stood on a stage at the Lamar Construction building in Hudsonville, looking down at a brand new motorcycle created by Paul Jr. Designs to benefit the organization.

“I was speechless,” Blauwkamp later said, reflecting on the night. “It kind of took my breath away.”
